Sandy Miller, LMSW, PLLC, ACSW, CAAC - Psychotherapy

I offer a sliding scale fee.

I provide psychotherapy incorporating several experiential and traditional methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which targets resolution of trauma and empowers people to release grief, raise self-esteem, and gain self-acceptance. I teach relational skills for replacing isolation with healthy intimacy and achieving abstinence from co-dependency. I also offer couples counseling using Imago Relationship Therapy principles. I have been trained in NeuroModulation Technique which informs my holistic perspective on mental health issues.

My belief is that self-actualization and fulfillment in all areas of life is an inherent capacity of humans and flows naturally from releasing held pain and developing compassion for oneself and others. I provide a safe, emotionally nourishing therapeutic environment in which skills for attaining such mastery can be cultivated.

Bio: I have 10 years of post-graduate work in substance abuse treatment and trauma therapy. My extensive experience includes treating adults with a variety of issues such as Chemical Dependency, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar and Attention Deficit Disorders, and Personality Disorders. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work and graduated from The University of Michigan School of Social Work in 1997. I am certified by the Academy of Certified Social Workers and hold an Advanced Addictions Counselor certification. Integrating a variety of clinical approaches my primary focus is to facilitate healing by helping people access internal and external resources and liberation from constraining beliefs and habits.
