For more than ten years, I’ve helped survivors of chronic stress and traumatic life experiences stop feeling stuck and overwhelmed and start building the kind of life they’ve been dreaming of.
Traumatic experiences overwhelm our brain and body’s ability to cope. This triggers a predictable survival response to get us through the crisis. Trauma becomes a problem when this survival response gets stuck “on” and doesn’t allow us to go back to our normal way of being. Together we will discuss ways we can shift our brain out of crisis mode and turn down the intensity. You’ll learn new tools to cope with stress and feel better, and work through the experiences that are keeping you stuck.
Living stuck in trauma mode sucks. People experience flashbacks, feel overwhelmed or disconnected, angry or sad, and have difficulty sleeping and eating, just to list a few. Very few people, regardless of how smart, strong, or hard-working need help getting unstuck. Asking for help shows wisdom, courage, and strength.
